Mr. Mark Baymon was originally born in Springfield, Massachusetts. He moved to Arizona with his brother and mother when he was five years old. He grew up on the west side of Phoenix in the Maryvale area under close supervision of his grandfather and grandmother who were a pastor and a missionary respectively. This background has made him a devout family man with a spiritual foundation. He was called to help our inner-city youth from an early age due to the fact that he come from the same place they do. His 15 years of experience in group homes, education, coaching and mentoring roles has led him to this position. Mr. Baymon served behavioral and at-risk students and helped to create and oversee a behavior program that’s kept students in the classroom while teaching and holding them accountable. He has a strong sense of community and a passion for ending the school to prison pipeline especially for minorities in his community. He also has an affinity for spoken word, the arts and playing chess, which helps him engage students in the classroom.
